Results of treating 367 patients with acute appendicitis were analysed in a cohort study: 151 laparoscopic appendectomy with clipping the stump of appendix, and 216 laparoscopy-assisted appendectomies with miniaccess. Th e laparoscopic variant of appendectomy is more preferable due to the absence of wound complications. In patients who underwent laparoscopyassisted appendectomy wound complications developed in 5 % of observed cases. After laparoscopy in 3 ,9 % of cases intraabdominal complications were noted. Relaparoscopy was performed in 1,3 % of patients after laparoscopy. Incompetence of appendix stump after laparoscopy was noted in 1,3 % of cases, which required repeat surgery.
laparoscopic appendectomy, laparoscopy-assisted appendectomy, effectiveness, complications.
