Efficacy of renin-angiotensin-aldosteron system inhibitors and beta-blokers in patients with arterial hypertension and their influence on metabolic syndrom

Abstract

It was shown that the treatment with renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system inhibitors not only possessed good antihypertensive effect but also exerted beneficial influence on metabolic syndrome and decreased the risk of cardiovascular death, while the use of beta-blocker metoprolol was more frequently associated with the appearance of metabolic syndrome and less pronounce influence on the risk of cardiovascular death.
