Abstract

Рeribulbar anesthesia combined with sedation applied in course of ophthalmic surgery creates favorable conditions for surgical work. A long-term sustained anesthetic effect lasting for up to 6 hours is achieved providing analgesia both during the surgery and in the early postoperative period. The proposed technique is simple to perform, and it does not require any accessory injections of anesthetic.
