DIAGNOSIS AND SOURCE CONTROL STRATEGY FOR ABDOMINAL SEPSIS IN DISEASES OF THE COLON

Abstract

An updated definition of intra-abdominal infections, risk factors for the development of complicated infections and criteria for adverse events in abdominal sepsis are presented in the article. Types of diagnostic programs as well as treatment strategies for localized and generalized peritonitis originating in the colon are reviewed.
