On the basis of experimental studies we proposed a technology of developing thin-film coated polymer stents for bile duct replacement based on a polymeric substance of polivinillpirrolidon (PVP), saturated with doxorubicin. The developed thin-film coating of an experimental model slows down the bile crystallization process on the surface of a stent sample. We proposed and studied the potential mechanism of formation of a stable PVP-doxorubicin adsorption complex for gradual delivery of doxorubicin into the body and its prolonged action. We analyzed the different types of molecule orientation of doxorubicin in relation to PVP adsorbent (during their interaction), to calculate the main energy characteristics of adsorption processes. We found that the interaction through an oxy group of the doxorubicin molecule is energetically a more favorable option. The proposed technology of applying thin-film drug coating can be introduced as quantum chemical calculations were made and it can become a basis for further research.
