Abstract

Numerous studies confirmed the role of vascular endothelial growth factor in pathogenesis of macular edema due to retinal vein occlusion. We examined 17 patients (17 eyes) with macular edema induced by occlusion of the central retinal vein branch before and after the intravitreal injection of Lucentis combined with retinal laser coagulation. Reliable data on positive post-treatment dynamics of best-corrected visual acuity and other major OCT characteristics were obtained.

Keywords

occlusion of the central retinal vein branch, macular edema, Lucentis, retinal laser coagulation.
