DISEASES AS A HISTORICAL AND CULTURAL PHENOMENON

Abstract

The present review deals with the reflection of the disease in the history of human civilization and the world of intellectual culture. The author highlighted the conceptual novelty of the study as well as the interdisciplinary nature of the research conducted by Medvedeva LM The book presented a humanitarian discourse revealing the attitude to the disease and its evolution, its impact on the development of society. The comparison of medical, nosological and cultural approaches and views was made. The attitude to the disease within the ordinary consciousness of everyday culture is explored.
