An ever-increasing prevalence of heart failure has led to the search for more significant risk factors for the development and progression of heart failure. It has recently been demonstrated that insulin resistance plays an important role in the pathogenesis and progression of heart failure. The study of the clinical value of insulin resistance in patients with heart failure and diabetes type 2 seems to be promising.
