EXPERIMENTAL EVALUATION OF PHARMACOLOGICAL NEUROPROTECTION DURING SURGERY ON BRACHIOCEPHALIC ARTERIES

Abstract

Experimentally, we modeled temporary brain ischemia in rats, occurring during a surgical intervention on carotids.Popular cerebroprotectors and the medications undergoing preclinical studies were used for brain protection. The evaluation was performed, based on NOS1, NOS3, TRAIL expression. We concluded that the neuroprotectors were effective during the surgery on brachiocephalic arteries.
