Abstract

The article includes recommendations of the Nomenclature Committee on Cell Death on irreversible permeabilization of the cell membrane or complete fragmentation of cells as well as regulated cell death (a genetically regulated process). The article describes morphological, biochemical and immunohistochemical markers of apoptosis, necrosis, autophagy and anoikis.
