Abstract

The changes in cerebral blood flow in rats with experimental stenosis of the common carotid arteries were assessed in this study. Cerebral blood flow was measured immediately after a 50 % reduction of blood vessel diameter, 20 days and 40 days after the surgery. We demonstrated that the cerebral blood flow was 29 % lower than that in intact animals measured on 20 and 40 days after the surgery.

Keywords

stenosis of the common carotid arteries, cerebral blood flow, rats.
