Qualitative and quantitative aspects of clinical diagnostics of evidenced-based practice

Abstract

The correspondence of basic principles of laboratory diagnostics to evidence-based practice is discussed. The basis of any test used in practice is a shift of the measured value distribution in comparison with the healthy population. Temporary diagnostic procedures are limited by “threshold” concept for individual parameters. Significant improvement of the model can be achieved by taking into account changes in correlations between parameters.
