Abstract

In epilepsy, the emergence of the phenomenon of secondary bilateral synchronization (SBS) in most cases leads to the appearance of new types of seizures, the increase in the total number of seizures and, in general, to a more severe course of epilepsy. In case of absence of the effect from the first monoterapia doctors are faced with the question of introducing a new drug. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of levetiracetam (LEV) as first complementary therapy in patients with epilepsy with phenomenon of SBS.
