Abstract

Currently Russia is experiencing a decrease in the birth rate, the number of women of fertile age. The statistics on the decrease in abortions is not objective since a certain portion of abortions made at private clinics remain unrecorded. Risky sexual behavior of young people, their lack of awareness of the consequences of abortion and modern methods of contraception have a negative impact on the nation’s reproductive potential. The paper presents findings of a questionnaire survey of medical students on reproductive behavior, complications of abortions, and contraception.
