CLINICAL EFFICIENCY OF ANTI-TUMOR NECROSIS FACTOR- (ARTROFOON) AND SIOFOR (METFORMIN) IN THE TREATMENT OF ARTICULAR DISORDERS AND METABOLIC SYNDROME IN PATIENTS WITH OSTEOARTHRITIS

Abstract

Total of 63 patients with osteoarthritis and metabolic syndrome were enrolled in the study. Patients of basic group received pathogenetic treatment of osteoarthritis and Siofor 500 mg x 2 times a day and Artrofoon 4 tablets a day under tongue. The applied treatment decreased the level of cholesterol, triglycerides, urinary acid, glucose, reduced body mass and body mass index, stabilized blood pressure and decreased severity of pain syndrome and number of swelled joints. The combined therapy with Siofor and Artrofoon is effective in treatment of metabolic syndrome and joint disorders in patients with osteoarthritis.
