Abstract

Due to the widespread introduction of modern imaging methods in medicine, the study of anatomical variations and congenital anomalies of liver development is of genuine interest to both diagnosticians and clinicians. This article discusses cases of detection of non-standard morphological changes in the human liver revealed during the dissections of organs for the purpose of teaching medical university students. Materials and methods. Using descriptive and comparative research methods, the macromorphological parameters of atypical and additional grooves, fissures, processes and lobes of fixed in 10 % formaldehyde solution liver were studied in detail. Results. Atypical structures of the liver have been identified and described, which complement the overall picture of the morphological variability of the hepatobiliary system, which is undoubtedly relevant in the practice of medical specialists and contributes to improving diagnosis when planning appropriate surgical interventions. Conclusions. A supplemented understanding of the anatomy of the liver, its possible malformations and variants of development, makes it possible to reduce the risk of diagnostic errors, to choose the right tactics for managing patients with hepatic diseases.
