Abstract

One of the side effects of polychemotherapy is the development of progressive myocardial dysfunction. Changes in diastolic left ventricular filling are considered the earliest markers that precede a full-scale clinical picture of heart failure. There is a correlation between the changes in oxygen transport function of the blood and the development of diastolic myocardial dysfunction. The possibility of cardiac complications must be considered during cancer chemotherapy, and cardiotrophic therapy must be timely prescribed which will help to reduce the complication rate.

Keywords

children, acute leukemia, cardiotoxicity, diastolic dysfunction, oxygen transport function of blood.
