Abstract

A retrospective analysis of regional cases of non-developing pregnancy showed a 2,3 times increase of this condition within the period from 2003 to 2010; there was also an increase in non-developing pregnancy cases among primiparas. Parameters of inborns’ immunity, of cytokines and endotoxin level in blood serum of 38 female patients with non-developing pregnancy (main group) and 32 female patients with threatening miscarriage in early period before 12 weeks (control group) were studied. To evaluate these findings in physiological pregnancy, 30 women who presented for an abortion of unintended pregnancy were tested. The test results showed a stable increase in endotoxin level in blood, proinflammatory cytokines (TNF, IL-1, IL-6) and an inborn immunity mechanism activation (expression Toll 2, Toll 4) among patients with non-developing pregnancy. These data emphasize the importance of chronic infection in the pathogenesis of pregnancy complication.
