Abstract

During a pharmacoepidemiological study we established that ACE-inhibitors (34,8 %) and diuretics (30 %) were predominantly administered to patients with diabetes type 2 associated with essential hypertension receiving treatment in outpatient clinics of Volgograd and Volzhsky as compared to other antihypertensive drugs. This treatment fully conforms with the guidelines and standards of arterial hypertension treatment. However, the rate of administration of centrally acting adrenergic drugs was rather low (3,4 %) which needs to be corrected.
