The article analyzes the results of surgical treatment of 10 656 patients with nodular goiter, diffuse toxic goiter, postoperative recurrent goiter, thyroid cancer over a period of 27 years. The authors provide reasons for using organ conserving surgery to treat multinodular goiter, diffuse toxic goiter, including relapsed multinodular goiter and diffuse toxic goiter.
