Abstract

The study found the features of ultrastructural changes in the lungs of HIV-positive people with lifetime injection drug use. The combination of HIV/TB co-infection with injecting drug addiction resulted in the the damage of alveolocytes 1-type and endothelial cells of capillaries of interalveolar septae. We also revealed the functional lability of macrophages to Mycobacterium tuberculosis (MBT) due to a preponderance of immature cells with decreased secretory ability and the emergence of intermediate forms, as well as differences in the regulation of processes of cell death in different populations of immunocompetent cells under the influence of MBT and HIV.

Keywords
