MALOCCLUSION PREVALENCE AND ORTHODONTIC TREATMENT NEED AMONG 12—15-YEAR-OLD CHILDREN ACCORDING TO DENTAL AESTHETIC INDEX

Abstract

The study was conducted in Volgograd and region among 501 schoolchildren. The mean DAI was 20,0 ± 0,9. Malocclusion was reported among 16 % of the children, 5,6 % had severe malocclusion and handicapping malocclusion. Orthodontic treatment need among 12 and 15-year-old children was 23,8 % and 13,2 % respectively.
