Abstract

The elimination of urodynamic disorders is of great importance in patients with severe spinal injury complicated by urination disorders. Evaluation of 278 pa-tients’ treatment showed that in 186 (66,9 %) cases after epicystostomy, the ascending pyelonephritis, cystitis, urethritis, prostatitis, microcystitis, urinary bladder stones were detected. Using experimental animals we developed an original epicystocutaneoustoma with the formation of an artificial sphincter from the abdominal rectus muscles. The present method was introduced into cli-nical practice and used in treatment of 58 patients with spinal column and cord lesions and urination disorders. Analysis of treatment methods demonstrated high effecti-veness of epicystocutaneostomy compared to existing methods.
